A non systemic selective acaricide and insecticide containing the active ingredient Spiromesifen from the Tetronic acid derivative group used to control all life stages of spidermites except adult males, and white flies in a wide range of crops such as citrus fruits, apples, peaches, tomatoes, and others.
It has a unique effect as it works as a stomach poison and by contact that differs from traditional pesticides with similar uses as it works as acetyl CoA carboxylase inhibitor (ACCase) – disrupts fatty acid biosynthesis and lipid formation in the targeted pests.
It has no cross-resistance with any pesticides from other chemical groups.
Relatively safe for humans and the environment and suitable for integrated pest control (IPM) programs in many crops.
It is effective at low doses and is relatively safe for bees and beneficial predators.
It can be mixed with many other pesticides except for copper and alkaline pesticides and a small-scale jar test must be conducted first before use.
